



Art majors attended a 2-day workshop at Funke Fired Arts in Cincinnati  with New York Ceramic Artist, Jeff Shapiro.  Shapiro addressed the  audience and created an installation piece Friday night, in conjunction  with the opening reception of his exhibition with renowned artist, Don  Reitz.  On Saturday, he demonstrated the throwing of traditional Raku  teabowls in the morning, and large slab construction in the afternoon.   After spending years apprenticing in ancient Japanese pottery villages,  Shapiro portrayed the much revered "tea aesthetic", even making  authentic tea (matcha) for the participants.
